Purpose and Program Overview
Grid Enhancing Technologies GET program helps Australian businesses. It offers competitive grant funding to speed up the use of grid-enhancing technologies on Australia’s electricity networks.
The program has up to $30 million in funding available over four years, from 2025-26 to 2028-29. This program assists the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW). It helps them deliver secure, reliable, and affordable energy to consumers.
The program shows and tests grid-enhancing technologies on Australian electricity networks. It identifies the costs and benefits of these technologies for broader use. This program aims to improve existing network infrastructure, allowing more renewable energy to flow to consumers faster. It reduces congestion and the need for new infrastructure, which lowers energy costs.
