Bruce Patten

Bruce Patten

With more than 30 years’ experience claiming government grants, Bruce is regarded as the grants expert. He has a passion for helping new business get off the ground and has a long list of successful clients who have received the government funding they needed for research, development, management, commercialisation, exportation, small business support… and the list goes on.

Prior to forming Pattens Group in 1992, Bruce was Group Finance Controller for the highly successful and innovative bionic ear company, Cochlear Limited, during its early development. This position provided him with extensive hands-on experience in securing a range of government grants, international financial accounting, managing innovation and the formulation of strategies to substantially assist company growth.

Bruce’s other qualifications include a Bachelor of Business Degree, Commerce Diploma, Associate Membership of CPA Australia, registered Tax Agent, Export Grant Consultant, member of COPAC, member of the Export Council of Australia and a Justice of the Peace.

Over the years Bruce has developed an extensive network of complementary businesses who can provide support to developing businesses in the areas of innovative engineering, product design and development, business development, patents, trademarks, equity fund raising, financial planning, insurance and mortgage loans.

Pat Sweetman

Pat has over 10 years’ experience in preparing grant applications for a range of diverse businesses, including both private and publicly listed companies and is recognised as one of the best grants consultants in Australia.  She is an Exports Grant Consultant, member of the Export Council of Australia and member of COPAC.

Sandy Campbell-Smith

Sandy Campbell-Smith

Sandy is an Electrical Engineer with significant experience in biomedical product development, technology management, supervision of design teams, analysis of statistics and risk, and has a strong working knowledge of Australian development standards. He is currently bringing his substantial expertise to Pattens clients applying for big-budget Commercialisation Australia scheme applications.

Brad Patten

Brad is a Photonic Engineer whose experience covers procurement and project management for government projects as well as preparing, and winning, million dollar tenders for the private sector. He specialises in preparing big-budget applications for the Commercialisation Australia scheme. Brad also holds post-graduate qualifications in linguistics, education and project management.

Maxine Jollye

Maxine Jollye

Maxine is a qualified accountant with a wide range of accounting and commercial experience gained in Australia, England, Germany and Belgium. Maxine studied Economics at Sydney University, is an Associate Member of CPA Australia, registered Tax Agent, Export Grants Consultant, member of the Export Council of Australia and a member of COPAC.

Nicole Cunningham

Nicole Cunningham

Nicole has extensive commercial experience in bookkeeping, accounting and taxation providing accounting support for a range of businesses. She is conversant in MYOB, Handisoft, Xero and many other accounting software packages. Nicole is also a Justice of the Peace.

Candell Patten

Candell has extensive international business experience, previously providing vital support to the Australian Consulate General in Brazil for over four years. Her management experience has included supervisory positions with major telco providers. Candell can communicate in many languages including Spanish, Italian, French and Portuguese. She also serves on the Board of several Australian companies.

Josephine Abellera

Josephine Abellera

Jo’ is a certified public accountant and certified internal auditor with a Masters in Business Administration and Bachelor in Accountancy.  Her expertise includes financial analysis, budget and financial report preparation, financial consultancy services, project implementation, internal control, governance and risk management.  Jo’ is an Export Grants Consultant, member of the Export Council of Australia and a member of COPAC.
