Grant Information

The Small Business Support Line provides direct access to an information and referral services that can assist small businesses with common, everyday issues.  The SBSL provides small business owners with a first point of contact to access information and referral services to improve their business sustainability and help better manage their business. The team of agents all have extensive experience in the small business sector. There is a diversity of knowledge among the agents including business start up information, banking, finance, accounting and marketing, advertising, small business counselling and information technology.

The Support Line links into existing small business support mechanisms including:

  • Business licensing information and referrals
  • Business Enterprise Centres
  • State and Territory government small business programs and services.

The Small Business Support Line also has a ‘Live Chat’ service. It allows customers to chat online to a SupportLine agent in ‘real-time’ via the website.  The ‘Live Chat’ service is designed to provide an alternate avenue of assistance for small business owners who are tech savvy. It will also help those small business owners who are not confident with their spoken English or who want to be impartial when speaking about unfamiliar topics. It also gives small business owners who are hearing impaired an additional medium to access small business information.

The Small Business Support Line also incorporates the Small Business Credit Complaints Clearing House. The clearing house provides an avenue for small businesses to direct their issues about access to and the cost of bank finance. If you have a Small Business Credit complaint, you can submit your complaint online.

The Support Line will be closed on Australian National Public Holidays.

The Small Business Support Line caters for the needs of small business owners who may be visually impaired or require an interpreter through the Translating and Interpreting Services. It also provides access to those callers who have a hearing or speech impairment through the National Relay Service.
The Small Business support Line provides access to information, assistance or referral on a range of small business issues.

To call the Small Business Support Line dial 13 28 46 is an online government resource for the Australian business community. It offers simple and convenient access to government information, forms and services for business. It’s a whole-of-government service providing essential information on planning, starting and growing businesses.

When contacting via 13 28 46, email, or webchat, businesses (including small businesses and independent contractors) are provided with a first point of contact to access information and referral services to improve their sustainability and help better manage their business. The team of agents has extensive experience in the business sector and will tailor advice to meet the needs of the customer. 13 28 46 is open 8am – 8pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) Monday to Friday and is closed on Australian National Public Holidays.
